Renault describes its New 7 seater vehicle as Flexible, Attractive and Affordable. This budget-beating, multi-purpose vehicle has caught the attention of a lot of car-buyers and rightly so as more South Africans are moving over towards vehicles with more practicality, the Renault Triber meets the needs of people who are looking for a car that can not only take them from A to B but offers them a range of possibilities.

A multi-purpose vehicle, sometimes called “people carriers”, is essentially a large hatchback seating for 6 people or more. It allows you to seat more people or have more space by removing seats. The Triber proves to be able to do this and more.

Taking advantage of Renaults Innovative EasyFix Seats on the Triber, you can remove and assemble seats as you need to. Whether you would like to make use of the 7-seater functionality where seven people can sit comfortably, or as a 5 seater, giving you more boot space to pack your braai set or plenty luggage. You can also remove all back passenger seats if you would ever like to camp or remove the side 2 seats to pack your umbrella, towels and cooler box for a nice day at the beach. The 3 part chromed front grille and projector headlamps gives the Triber a striking look and the ground clearance of 182mm not only adds to this attractiveness but offers protection on rough roads. No more worrying for are going to be driving on some gravels roads as the Triber will be able to handle it. 

The Triber has a driver and front passenger airbags and has a feature which locks the doors when the vehicle is driven at a high speed and unlocks the doors when there is an impact, giving you and your family more safety in your vehicle.

If you are going on a road trip, it would be a good idea to keep your snacks in the front pockets behind the driver and front passenger, not forgetting it will be easier to reach. As the co-driver, the front passenger has 2 gloveboxes for their own storage. For your cold drinks, all Triber models have a cooled centre console to store it in, for those hot days when you need a refreshment and if that doesn’t help, your family can take advantage of the aircon situated on both 2^nd and 3^rd rows. 

An 8” inch MediaNav Evolution Touschreen with Apple iPlay and Android auto, enables you to connect your device to your vehicle and use Google Maps to navigate your way around so you wouldn’t have to worry about ever getting lost. The Triber Expression comes with a R&GO Radio with smartphone mount which allows you to connect your device through an app, it may not be as fancy as the 8” touchscreen but when you are looking at affordability, it is quite a useful gadget to have in your car. 

As a 7 seater, the Renault Triber is quite comfortable with fabric upholstery, there is no feeling of claustrophobia or uneasiness. And if you are thinking about that fuel consumption being an issue, it really isn’t. The Triber does an average of 5.5l/100km and is able to operate efficiently with its 1.0l engine. It is available as a top of the range model within the Triber which explains the slightly higher price. It features a keyless entry, giving you a little extra time to get it and drive off in your vehicle and a reverse camera for parking, making parking easier so you don’t bump into walls and especially on those days when you are in a bit of a rush.
